Meet your captain

Join Captain Ronnie Rapp and the “Catch Dog” fishing vessel for a fun-filled day of fishing! Captain Ronnie is a Florida Native that has spent his whole life exploring and fishing these local waters for both fun and to make a living. He specializes in Full Day, 3/4 day, and Half Day fishing charters, as well as shark trips and nearshore charters.

A father himself, Captain Ronnie loves taking families and kids out on the water to teach and provide the opportunity to catch a variety of fish species such as king mackerel, dolphinfish (mahi-mahi), cobia, barracuda, bonito, black fin tuna, amberjack, grouper, snapper, triggerfish, sharks and anything else the Atlantic Ocean provides. Nearshore charters allow us the opportunity to fish for sharks, red drum, stingray, snook, and occasionally tarpon and goliath grouper.

This was the best charter we have ever done. Capt Ronnie was so awesome. We had the best time and caught a bunch of fish. We got 14 kings and 4 Mahi-mahi.

We had an amazing time. Capitan Ronnie was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. We got to see turtles, sharks and a dolphin (that ate our catch). We got many King Mackerels and some sharks. Would have loved to get a Mahi but hey, you can’t have it all. Anyhow, it was an awesome trip, thank you!

Went in-shore fishing this past weekend and had a great time. Ronnie our captain was very knowledgeable and great with helping with the fishing lines. We caught released 3 hammerheads, a big black tip and a ton a bait fish while waiting for the big lines.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My family including 3 teenagers never even on a boat before all had an excellent time! Captain Ronnie is the best. He helped us every step of the way and never had a negative word to say.

Since it is called “fishing” and not “catching” nothing can be guaranteed and Mother Nature sometimes has plans that are very different from ours, however the opportunity to catch a variety of fish species such as king mackerel, dolphinfish (mahi-mahi), cobia, barracuda, bonito, blackfin tuna, amberjack, grouper, snapper, triggerfish, sharks and anything else the Atlantic Ocean provides. Cook your catch!

Being docked behind one of Florida’s best seafood restaurants has its perks! After a long day of fishing, enjoy the entertainment the dock has to offer or take a few short steps to the Tiki Bar for a refreshment while we clean your catch. From there, take you your catch right inside the Grills restaurant and they’ll cook it up for you. We recommend the grilled.
